I own a 96 gsx, 2000 gs and 97 xp.
I can only keep two.

The gsx has gotten the best of everything so far including upgraded gauges.
The gs also got the gtx gauges and a complete rebuild.

The 97xp I just finished and tested. Everything is functional now and only little things left to do to make it perfect. but the trailer is a pos lol

Which would you keep?

GSX and XP. The GS is just an underpowered GSX with a 720. Having two 787’s will keep parts and oil consistent.

I would keep the GS and the GSX. The 97 XP is an unpowered....pardon my french.....TURD. I'm sure with a 951 it's a great ski but with a stock 787...meh. I rode one for a few hours back in 97 and was sold I'd never own one. It couldn't do anything my 96 XP could do.

My buddy has a 97XP that runs perfect. He kicked it off the trailer to load his RX on it and now it has just sat there in the dirt under the house all year. There is just always an extra ski around and the 97XP is the one that doesn't get picked.

I am surprised to hear this about the 97 XP. I would think models got better with each new upgrade. I guess not.

For the Poster... I ditch the slow @ZZ ski and keep the hooligan one for me.

I am going through growing pains as well. I really like our pair of 96 and 97 GTX's. That is all I need for sure but I did so much to the Little SPI and it is a hella fun ski. I like it. :D :D Now I have 96 SPX and 96 XP I am working on and I'm thinking the Lil guy my be for sale soon. I am actually leaning toward keeping the SPX over the XP. Decisions Decisions

Good Luck !!

While I agree the 97 could use more power I had a new one in 97 and two friends have them now. They keep up with everything and both of them love them especially in rough water. They still turn good and cut the chop. I have a 01’ XP and although it is faster they keep up enough for fun rides messing around.

Thanks guys.

I've hit that point where I've driven enough machines to have a good idea of what I like and otherwise id keep em all if I could lol. There is always that sentimental attachment after resurecting a machine that makes it hard to decide too.

That's true... we leave a little part of ourselves in everything we do. :) I don't know how much better the SPX and XP will be but that lil SPI is reliable and fun !! :)
