Hello,

I'm wondering how to de-winterize my RXP 215 '05.

I'm sure that there are many guides out here, but I think that my situation is a little bit specific so that's why i'm creating a new thread.

I didn't use my sea doo last summer, so it's been "winterized" for about 2 years... I was kind of in a hurry when I winterized it 2 years ago, so all I did was remove the battery, put gas stabilizer in the tank and I ran it for a few seconds to flush all water...

Also, it's been stored outside, under a portable car shelter. Temperatures went as low as -40°C/-45°C last winter where I live (Canada).

I know that to properly de-winterize my sea doo I need to change the oil, change the spark plugs and charge up the battery. Are there other things that would be advisable to do considering the 2 years "winterized" period and the fact that my sea doo was stored outside in extremely cold temperatures? I'm definitely not a mechanic, but willing to learn and do it myself.

thank you !

1. Oil change
2. Change plugs (apply fogging oil into cylinders when plugs are out). Pull the injectors and do the same. Crank engine with plugs out to circulate the fogging oil. This is just in case you have any corrosion build up in the cylinders.
3. Pull jet pump and inspect for cracks and obvious damage. Follow service manual to replace front grease seal; clean out old grease and add the specified amount of new grease; inspect the pump bearing for pitting corrosion while you're at it, and replace the bearing if there is any evidence of corrosion.
4. Check battery CCA and compare to battery label; replace if necessary.
5. Change engine coolant if it hasn't been changed in the past 5 years.
6. Perform all other inspections as outlined in the owner's manual for based on current operating hours.
