Hey there, new to this forum and jet skis overall. I bought a 97 seadoo 717 XP. Overall in pretty good shape compared to some others I've looked at in my price range. Took it out this last weekend and it ran great, got it on the trailer and found I had about 6-8 inches of water around the motor. Pulled it out and drained it then backed it back into the water to see if I could find where the water was coming from. Well I found a crack. It doesn't seem like a fast leak... Yet. I'm attaching a picture to show the crack. Any ideas on how to repair this? Seems like a tough spot to fix.

I don't know too much about glass repair, and can't remember if Seadoodoc is on this forum. Try looking him up and shooting him a pm. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in. Sorry I'm not more help. Best of luck with the repair.

Thanks for the reply. I'll try looking him up. I might just try epoxy if I can't figure anything else out within the week or so. For what I have in it I don't want to tear it all down and put that much effort into it. This one is just to see if I will actually use it and if it would be worth buying a nicer one. I found a nice new rule 1100 Gph bilge pump at a garage sale for $5 so I'm going to install that as some reassurance.

I have a 99 model. It is a very fun hull, you won't be disappointed. The more you lean the better it turns. Took some getting used to for me as I only had experience with bigger cruisers before. I love mine!

IF you want to go cheap you can also just clean the area realy good with acetone then wrap a few layers of glass and polyester resin around it. The correct way is the OSD kit above.

Also it is not a 97' or 96' XP in the picture. The last 2 digits of the VIN are the year. My guess if it is a 717 XP it is a 95'.
