1. Is it bad to idle for long periods of time? Say for instance I am wanting to do some fishing and I decide I want to troll along, would that be bad, I would think being 2 cycle it might foul plugs but no sure.

2. If I am idling around or in no wake zones does it hurt anything to just run 1 of the engines instead of running both?

3. The previous owner of my boat used cheap Quicksilver Wal-Mart oil in my boat, is it going to hurt if I switch over to Sea-Doo oil?

Thanks Y'all

1. It might foul the plugs a little but if the carbs are in good shape is no big deal.

2. Always run both engines as you risk flooding the engine is not running. Is supposed to be ok as long as you don’t go over 5mph but why take the risk.

3. I have the same dilemma. I have no clue on what the previous owner used on my boat so according to the gurus we should not mix oils. We should drain and refill. If you are premixing then all you have to do is run it low on gas and just start using the new oil. Mine is oil injected so i am waiting until i run low and then ill try to take out as much as possible.

Do you know what type of Quicksilver oil he was using? I think they have one that is Synthetic and approved to run on Seadoo’s. You have to make sure they used API-TC and not TCW3 oil. If they used API-TC from QuickSilver you can continue to use it if you can find it.

I looked into it and it was the API-TC, the only bad thing is I have no idea if it was run with TCW3 in the past. I think I will follow your lead and run it low, then try to drain it out and start fresh, I cant imagine it would cause too many problems.
