So I took my 2001 GTX DI to the lake today to test some work I’d done on the jet pump. I had the jet pump bolted on but not the steering shroud. Just needed to run it for a bit and didn’t want to mess with the hose and also keep the bearing cooled.
anyway after a while and a little revs I got the high temp warning. When I got home I pulled some of the water lines and they seemed very dry. I blew some compressed air through the intake hose and I had air blowing out of the water exit. So It doesn’t seem to be clogged.
all that for this question. Does the steering shroud need to be on in order to get water to flow up into the intake holes?
