what is proper procedure to test module out of elec box, also specs?

1993 spx, history; 15 amp fuse keeps blowing, have 2 mpems and it blows fuse when either is installed, i know they both could be bad, but would like to try and test them and see if that is the case, other ideas?

Symptom of Stator shorting is my guess!

the actual strator?or wires that run into mag housing?

decided to tear into machine today and found the culprit...... looks like a bolt backed out that holds stator to housing...... got thrown around in flywheel and destroyed stator assembly/ stator is in 2 pieces and copper windings everywhere.....
