I have a 1997 seedoo speedster.Having a problem with a continuous beep when I put the safty lanyard on. The book says its over heating. My question is, once it cools down should the beeping stop?

Continuous Beep After Starting Engines

Continuous beep 30-45 seconds after start. Boat has been in dry storage during the off season. Before being put up took for test drive as I was having electrical issues. Battery died and found green and black pair of wires(ground?) by battery connected to nothing. Thanks high priced mechanic! Connected to post and after getting new battery took for a test drive at the lake. Both engines bogged and died at about 3k in water. Limped back in at idle. Took for another test assuming I would have to figure out what caused the motors to bog. Ran like a champ for 45 min with 15 min runs and a few minutes floating between. Then the continuous beep started. No oil light that I remember but I was worried the engines were overheating due to oil or water starvation. Shut it down and let it cool off. Started back up after about 5-10 min floating in water and limped it back a few minutes to the trailer. Now troubleshooting with friend and the beep comes on within 30-45 sec running at 3k idle with hose feeding water. Doesn't matter which motor. Where should we start? We were already planning on cleaning the heat sensors on both motors. Was the sensor that you replaced heat or the post sensor for DESS? I'm possibly just being a chicken but don't want to burn up the motor I paid a mechanic to rebuild previously. I just want to enjoy the ride again. What are the mysterious green and black wires by my battery supposed to ground?:banghead:

We sanded the DESS post and lanyard contact. Also tested the temp sensors on the motors as well as a light cleaning with a grinding wheel brush. Ran like a champ last weekend. :driving:

Now on to testing/replacing the s/b tach and gas gauge.:hurray:
