Hey guys, been a member since last summer but this is my 1st post, hope to one day be able to contribute to this noble cause of straight shooting know how and just overall awesome community, since so far I have just been a parasite and sucked up as much knowledge as I can find (btw you guys have saved me from pwc heart break more times than I can count).....anyway I am needing to put my inlet grate over ye lakes o' knowledge again....this time in the 4 tec section...
...so I am considering buying a 2004 gtx limited to fix it up.... it has less than 25 hours on it, freshwater, everything on it in PRISTINE condition outside, but the engine block has a hole in it. owner says it slung a rod, and that up until that catastrophe everything worked fine (as far as that verbal guarantee can be taken). I know this is one of the first years of the supercharged 4 tecs, or 4 tecs at all really, and that replacing this motor is not even in the same universe as anything in my 587. I guess no one specific question aside from 'as it sits' value, but any blarring warnings would be appreciated.
