does it matter if the engine is hot or cold when doing a compression test?

i tested my 2 skis ('96 and '97 GSX) today while the engine was cold and on the first got a perfect 150 on both cylinders. :hurray: On the 2nd I got 150 on one cylinder and actually got closer to 155 on the 2nd.

Just want to make sure the tests are valid on a cold engine

Cold engine. and hold the throttle open... but if you are getting 150... you are in great shape.

great thanks, that's what I was hoping to hear. Had the throttle wide open. Not bad having perfect compression on a 14 and 15 year old engine :cheers:
