Bought a 2011 RXT and a 2005 RXT over the summer, rode all summer and come winter (as much winter as Florida can have) I did standard maintenance, oil change new plugs and rebuilt sc on the 2005. Both skis have the maintenance codes flashing on them. I am considering purchasing a map tuner or some sort of device that I can get in and delete the codes from the ecu. I currently have my eyes on the Vtech map tuner, is this a good tuner? Does it require a tuning credit to just delete the codes? Is there something better out there that does what I am looking for?

Most of us have the Candoo Pro. Yo can clear all codes, diagnose the ski, reprogram keys, and pull live stream data. $400. Can buy it from PWC which is our site sponsor at a slight discount.

Does Candoo pro have the ability to do maptuning or is it strictly for diagnosis? Is it only for Seadoos or will it work on other brands as well?

You may be in luck . V Tech just came out with a more advance map tuner .
As a result their are some that are trying to rid themselves of the old map tuner so you can get one cheap.
The old tuner will read and clear trouble codes. It will reset the maintance reminder .It can be used to get a V Tech tune on your boat. The one I am talking about is the little one with the led screen. When I got mine , I was happy that it looked well built and not a one flash wonder.

Was kinda leaning towards the vtech. Can they delete codes without purchasing the tuning credit? Was wanting to do some things to the internals of my 05 before I tune it.

I did some research on the Candoo pro and it will do the job I need right now. With the Candoo are you able to adjust the factory parameters?

Some parameters. Not performance, but owners name and setting hours on a new speedo cluster for example.
