1998 GTI. Died while my buddy had it out, he got towed about 8 miles with no towing precautions now just a hard clunk while trying to start. One clunk, won't turn over. Hydro lock? Spark plugs seem dry. Battery is new and charged What next?

Remove *plugs and get crank turnig. What you did was fill the engine with water by towing with the water supply line from jet pump un-pinchered. Get it out and running right away or the crank ect will rust and ruin your engine. I advise running in the lake at least a 1/2 hour
after you get it running.

starter was frozen. No water in the cylinders, spark plugs not wet. It now turns over but wont fire. I'm getting fuel to the carb and spark at the plugs. the ECM in the box may have gotten wet. The 15a fuse is still ok in the box but there is a bit of corrosion. I'm going to let it dry out this week and give it a crank on Saturday. I'll let you know
