Hey guys, just start off by saying that when I bought my 96 XP the PO froze the VTS in the midrange due to a burnt out motor. Up until now I have not really thought too much about getting it fixed because it is plenty fast enough for my kids and it is pretty stable. The issue I have is when I ride it it has a tendency to chine walk as I slow down. As long as I'm accelerating it is fine but when I start slowing down she will start walking and the oscillations get bigger and bigger. Keep in mind I'm 225 lbs on an X4 hull and I'm not sure if that's just what it does or not. Maybe the VTS? IS this normal for this hull?

Thanks.

Never heard of it called Chine walking... but... the VTS won't help. On my XP... I had to put 3 degree down trim tabs to get it to ride flat.

Thanks for the reply Doc. I call it chine walking because that's the best way I know to describe what it's doing. As I slow it oscillates from side to side as the boat slows down. I have been on a full size boat going very fast that really did chine walk and I can tell you it's a very scary feeling. It's good to know (in a way) that the VTS would not affect it. It's really no big deal I was just more curious. My GTX never did that at all of course its a GTX and not an XP.
