Changing battery in 2024 SeaDoo GTI SE 170

Trying to get the battery out of my GTI 170 is a major pain. Hose in the way and the strap is horrible that holds the battery down. Cut up my hands while trying to remove. After 2 hours I finally got it out. Anybody experience the same crap removing this battery and came up with a better plan? Also I have some battery tender cables connected to the GTI battery while its in circuit. I put a slow trickle charger on it. I think Seadoo frowns upon this but I dont believe it will damage the electronics of the GTI with a very low trickle charger keeping the battery charged when no riding.

There are many great YouTube videos of the painful process of changing the battery in a 2020 and newer GTI. The cuts, the scrapes, the suffering - it is all real. I would suggest watching a few videos and compiling a few strategies and see what works best for you to try. I think there might be some merit to attaching the rubber strap to the hold downs, but have the strap off the battery on one end. Then pull the strap up over the end of the battery until you have it centered on the battery. But good luck - there isn’t a really easy way that I have found without getting all cut up.
