What do you guys do with your cell-phone when boating? I'd like to find a way to mount it on the windshield frame or dash to keep it in a secure place and easy to grab if needed. Although maybe it's a moot point since the iPhone overheats and shuts down after being exposed to the sun for an extended time. For now I've been keeping it in the little pocket above the front console box.

I keep mine in the glove box plugged into the AUX jack for music. I try not to be bothered by my fine when out on the water.

I use ram suction mounts for my phones and attach them behind the steering wheel. Even with the slight curve there they adhere just fine as long as the surface is clean. I usually have 2 phones mounted, one is for my tunes(BT) and navionics while the other is my regular phone.

Here's the suction mount I use. RAM Composite 3.3" Diameter Suction Cup Base with 1" Ball Unpackaged - RAP-B-224-1U | RAM Mounts

You can buy them with the arm and phone holder as a package too.

I've had no issues with them overheating, but they are not iPhones.
