wow those 2 are beautiful boats, didnt know they were so nice in those years! Good Job, im not sure though which one I would buy, hopefully someone can tell you which one has bigger motors and stuff..

The Speedster is a little beat up but the Challenger is in good shape. Of coarse it all depends on the way the boats where driven, the hours on them, where they used in salt water. They are both 2 strokes the challenger probably has twin 787's and the speedster most likely has the same or twin 951's. If the speedster is an DI say away they are known to have problems you can read about and the 787's are more reliable. If you have the money I would step up and buy a four stroke for fuel milage and reliability reasons.

I am really biased I guess. I have the 98 Speedster. It can hold 4 people comfortably. It has twin 110 HP motors, which is the 787 2 stroke. It is very fast. The 787 is a very reliable motor. I think that challenger probably has the same motors. It is also small enough to fit in most garages. That being said, I really like that challenger. I guess it really depends on your needs and stuff.

how many people in family, or how many you plan on bring'n? and intentions with the boat?

I also have a '98 speedster like in the picture.

Light and very fast boat. Excellent for watersports. The retractable pole is very useful. Twin 787 are very fast. Lots of space to put your stuff, nice sporty look.

The challenger is heavier being a 18' has wether twin 787 or twin 717. I think the challenger is more "sunday cruise" oriented than the speedster. Look is very nice. If you want to save money, get the challenger if it has twin 717. Twin 787 is very hard on gaz when you beat them, but you get a hole lotta fun. I can go trough 3/4 of my tank in the speedster in 3-4 hours. Worse I did was 1/4 of a tank in 30 minutes.

Then again, when you don't want to spend on fuel, you don't buy a jetboat!

2 strokes are hard on gaz, smells, but they've got 1 big advantage. There's a LOT of parts available, and those parts are very cheap. Brand new 787 for 1400$, try that with a 4tec.

Well i went with the speedster and i must say I LOVE IT... But im sure that i would have liked the challenger just as much but for diffrent reasons. The look of the speedster is what sold me.. Well that and the fact that my speedster we infact "mint" you would never know it was ever used.

I think 21 1/2 ft on the trailer and im not sure on the width. I know I cant fit it straight in my garage. I have a 2 car garage in a new house and I have to put it in and turn it diagonally to make it fit. With a swing away tongue it would work fine. It you really need to know,I can measure it tomorrow.

^Its good thanks.
I only have 18.5" long and 7.5" wide?? I have single doors in two car garage :banghead:

you would be fine with the width. i would think you could get it in and move it around ok. I am almost positive you could with a swing away tongue. It is very easy to push around. I back mine in with the truck half way then detach it and push it around by hand by myself.
