Ok guys got a 95 seadoo xp...runnin on sunday and got some cavitation for first time of owning the ski.So i did some investigatingand took the pump off and the impeller is nicked up pretty good. The edges are bent pretty good...do you think this is the cause of my cavitation issues???Last week had no cavitation(that i noticed)...

The wear ring is normally the problem when it comes to cavitation. I can't see your wear ring very well here, but the impeller doesn't look that bad. I'm actually here because I have a cavitation problem as well. I have the pump off now, and my wear ring and impeller look pretty good. What looks bad is a couple of the "fins" that are part of the impeller housing. Does anyone know if those cause cavitation if they are broken?

The wear ring looks good, check the clearance with a feeler gauge .040". Also it looks like you could clean up the impeller with a dremel tool. Honestly I can't tell from the pictures is the blades are bent. I don't think this is the cause of the cavitation, you might want to look at the carbon seal.

if you click on pictures you will get a better view...the edges of impeller are bent all the way around like a c...no carbon seal this model has the bearing pack

The cavitation was happening when you give fuul throttle from a stand still...it would move and plane out but give it full throttle and i would get the cavitation

Sorry, but I clicked on the pics, and I don't see where your impeller is bent "like a c." I do see the rough edges of your impeller, but that isn't going to cause cavitation. If you look into the housing from the other end, do you see any damage to the "fins" that are built-in to the housing? Look down in there with a flashlight at the ends of the fins closest to the impeller. That end of those fins can break if a rock or something gets caught between the impeller and the fins. I'm now convinced that is causing my cavitation, because my impeller and wear ring look good. The bad news is, if I'm correct, I'll have to buy a housing, because those fins are part of the housing. Looking like around $250, unless I can find a good used one that will work on my '97 GS.

Someone has already had a file to that impellar.4th photo on the hub is the marks. It does not look that bad but also in the 4th photo the leading edge has had some serious work.
