Carrier bearing

Took the pump off of my 2001 SeaDoo XP, and I can grab the impeller shaft, still obviously in the Seadoo, and the shaft has a slight bit of play up down left right in the carrier bearing. As in, the bearing doesn't have play, but the shaft where it goes through the bearing, the inside of the inner bearing has a little slack / play, literally 1/64 - 1/32. The red arrow points to where there's play. Is this normal? Any help would be great. The play isn't there with the pump installed, impeller bearing seams good.

Any ideas? My thought is that it's such a small clearance between the Driveshaft and the bearing that it's not a big deal or is pretty standard

The bearings actually ride on the shaft itself so I am sure a little play is normal.
