Both sets of carburetors probably need rebuilt. Why not rebuild the ones that fit.,
Pretty sure it would be a PITA to make the 46s fit.
 
I’m with Toby,,,you will have lol kinds of mounting issues,,,plus jetting issues to compound your move.

I wouldn't. The I series carbs were designed with emissions in mind. If you want to run 44mm carbs, go with aftermarket or SBN44s.
 
To much to change cables are different oil injection is different and the rotary valve motors do not like bigger carbs.they create alot of crankcase pressure and would be almost impossible to jet unless you have alot of experience in jetting carbs imo
