Ok guys so I dewimnterized a buddy's ski today, it's a 96 gsx and while running on hose the carbon seal started to vibrate loudly makin a terrible noise. Turned it off immediately and restated and it was fine but did it again two minutes later. Any ideas??? The seal looks fine and ran all last year with no problems and no leaks... Can you lube this with a touch of grease???

Actually water lubricates the carbon seal. So I would take it to the lake and see how she does, I'm betting it will be O.K.

Yep... what he said.

You aren't supposed to run a SeaDoo for more than a minute or two on the hose. If you do... you are supposed to spray the seal with soapy water.

I had a 97 XP that had a carbon seal that would make a ton of noise a couple seconds after start up. The noise should definitely go away once its in the water. I ended up loosening the clamp on the PTO boot just enough to get the noise to subside.

Thanks guys for the responses...hey Doc i only ran it for about three min just trying to clear out the foggin oil and make sure carbs are running on fresh fuel...maybe put alittle more pressure on the ring by sliding the boot forward???
