Carbon Seal question

What are the chances that sucking up a rope at idle will cause the carbon seal to leak?

Maybe sort of,,,,

The seal floats on the shaft, does not really ride on it. By design, this allows for some shaft give/wobble. If the shaft got bent, that can do it as the collars would be wobbling across the face of the seal.
