Carb swap possible?

I have a 94 SPX 657 with dual carbs (270500205, 270500206). They are unusable. I do have another pair of carbs off a parts ski (270500196, 270500195). Is swapping these over to it possible. I know I would have to change the intake manifold but what else?

They appear to be the same carbs. One is for the 94 XP(195 and 196) the other is for the 94 SPX/GTX (205 and 206) in 94 with 125 main and 60 pilot. and 2.0 N&S and same pop off. So it's a straight swap.

They look completely different. It is also possible that the carbs I bought when I thought I had a 657X in the SPX were incorrectly described as 94 XP carbs. Where would the P/N be located on them?

Your's look more like this, 3 screws hold the flame arrestor on, vs. the 2 like the other ones. Your 94 SPX just has a 657 in it, not the X. But when I compared them it was comparing jetting etc.......... not the physical bodies. But those carbs you bought look like they were from a 94 XP. Perhaps Matt Braley can confirm if you can swap over with out any parts but just re-routing of cables. I have a 93 or 94 XP ath my shop, I could take a gander tomorrow if I get some time.

This link is for 94 XP carbs

I think these are what are currently on your ski.

Yes that's the carbs that are on the ski at the moment. Hoping I can just use a different intake manifold and everything else will bolt up.

It's just the old style carbs. They run fine. Just make sure you get them jetted properly.

FYI... I've swapped carbs on a bunch of skis, because one set would be rotten, and I had something else on the shelf.
