Carb Rebuilding.....

So... Its time. 1 has a leaking seat I believe, have to crank it wide open for 30-45 seconds on restarts, vs the other. The plan was to remove them and ship them to Dr.honda. I have rebuilt carbs on both my chain saws, and on older racing cars but I figured sending them to someone who knew what they were doing was a better move on these. However I have been unable to contact the Good Doctor....... So anyone have his info? Or is there another member that is good at carb rebuilds?

Theyre not as bad as they look in the exploded diagram. If you understand the basic principal of carburetion you can do it. The hardest part is the low speed circuit has tiny holes to clear out

It's not hard. Use OEM parts, take your time and do it once.

Yeah forgat to mention that OEM OEM OEM OEM, if you dont use oem parts and you have problems then you asked for it

Dr Honda doesn't do carbs anymore. He closed his shop and took another job.

Where would you recommend getting oem rebuild kits? I have a 93 spi for example and I'm seeing only aftermarket.

be sure to check the oem needle and seat, and you need a pop off tester. You can make one easy and use a bike pump or buy one. How is the rest of the fuel/oil system? If you have junky fuel lines you will wind up with a junky rebuilt carb

Edit: just noticed both jhjessie posted are correct but noticed if you add the vitton needle to kit #1 is cheaper than getting the kit #2 that comes with it

Ok looks a lot like my chain saw carbs..... Question.... What type of grease did you guys use on the HAS and LSA?

I think i used everyday wheel bearing grease, it was tan.

Ok time to revive and older thread. I am finally getting ready to do this. I ordered a duel rebuild kit from osd parts. couple questions. Does anyone know what the default Hi and Low needle settings are? And is there a default setting for the idol screw?
