My XP doesn't want to idle good, when you ride it going from slow to mid range it doesn't want to go. I have changed the fuel lines, checked the fuel filter and changed the spark plugs. The compression checks good. I pulled the carbs off my Sea DOO XP. I measured the pop off pressure and they are correct. I'm not sure if those carbs have ever been rebuilt. I'm wondering if with the pop off pressures being correct, does that mean the carbs doesn't need to be rebuilt? I haven't gone inside the carbs yet, who knows I might have a jet clogged. I have ordered the rebuilt kits with Mikuni OEM seals. Thanks Brian

You really need to get inside to see if those screens are clogged.

Igotone, thanks, I did take them apart tonight. The screen on the back carb along with the slow jet or pilot jet was clogged. What bothers me is I clean out those screens two years ago. Back then I put the original parts back in. The screen that was clogged tonight had black particles in it. I guess it would be a good idea to put new seals in this time. I did replace the fuel lines last month, that might help.

Yeah you should be much better off now. I did an entire fuel system rebuild with all brand new parts and my 95 SPX runs like brand new now. Make sure your fuel selector is clean too. Also, as a last line of defense for your carb filters, you should install one of these:

This will clog up before your carbs do, and is much easier to replace and only a few bucks. Happy boating.

rgiana25, thanks for the inline fuel filter suggestion. I finally installed the rebuilt carbs yesterday with the new inline filter on the supply line. Its running a lot better, but I noticed when I stop it I can see fuel being sucked back into the back carb through the return line. I'm thinking I also need to put a inline filter on the return line? Just to make sure no particles gets back into the back carb> Any thoughts on this? Thanks Brian

shouldnt use "paper" filters, along with, extra-not needed filters. Its more places to go wrong, and pull air into fuel system.
