Carb question

Will the carbs off of a 787 work on a 717 block

yeah,..on my Sportster 1800, it has 1-40I carb on ea. motor. So think'n, if you go that route, use the one w/ fuel pump on carb, (so wont have to acquire, external pump) and replace intake with single-carb adaptor.
Just looked up a reference sheet, and every ski that has 717 motor, with 40I-carb, only had 1-carb...

Yes they will bolt right on. Your Sportster has dual 38's and the 787 carbs are dual 40's. You will have to re-jet the carbs though.
