Cant figure out winterizing on a 1998 GSX Limited

I am starting to think about putting this ski up for the winter, but cant figure out the sequence. I can run the carbs out of gas ok, but then how do I blow the water out or B. Fog the engine? I bought the sta bil fogger, but it comes out like wasp spray and never kills the engine, at least not by shooting it in the intake horns.

I am just not sure how to approach this and A. run the carbs dry B. blow excess water out the engine C. get it fogged Any ideas appreciated.

No need to run carbs dry just make sure you have marine stabil in the system before storage.

For the fogging oil you need one with a straw like WD-40 has. Spray it directly into each carb with the engine running and you will hear the engine bog. Shut ski off then pull and ground sparkplugs and spray more fogging oil down each plug hole and bump the engine over a couple times to distribute the oil. Reinstall the plugs and wires.

If you live where it freezes I would follow the manual and add marine/RV antifreeze to the cooling system.

OK thanks. So "bog the engine" does not mean to kill it, just when the rpm's drop?
wow I hate to put it up with gas in the carbs, too many years of training the other way..
If i did run it out of gas, with a good battery will it not pull in the fog just on the starter turning the engine over? The orientation of the carbs and air box make sure make it hard to spray anything directly into the carbs. thanks for the help.

I also use this time to clean the RAVE valves.
Change your spark plugs in the spring as well, after the first run.
No reason to have new plugs sit all winter, to get run with extra oil.

If you don't want to go the fogging oil route...
1. turn off the fuel valve.
2. remove and ground plug wires
3. open throttle to wide open (opens the oil pump wide)
4. crank starter on/off for 30 seconds x 2-4 times

This loads the engine up with oil, but not gas.

not saying it's right/wrong, just saying... that's a thing...
