Can anyone identify this part ?

I found this bouncing around in the bottom of the engine compartment.(2000 GTX DI) Can anyone identify it for me. I found this bouncing around in the bottom of the engine compartment. Can anyone identify it for me. It's about 1/4" square brass with a threaded hole through...

99.9% sure it is what the bolt that holds the cable onto your battery threads into. probably just an old one that fell out when a battery was replaced.

I agree with big jake. I found one of those in the bottom of my hull too.

Looks like its brass, hold on to it, might need one down the road.

yes definitely hold onto it as you will undoubltedly drop one into the hull some day when you are changing the battery, I have a few of them and the bolts in my tool box. always easier to grab one from the toolbox than to fish around the bottom of the hull.
My latest battery from Advanced Auto has the threads right in the battery post so at least on that ski i don't have to deal with those #$% things.
