I have a 2005 C180 and had the driver seat cabin light burn out last year. So in prep for this year i decided to replace the bulb. Its a simple task of just poping the little round cover off.

My question is has anyone went with a brighter light bulb? The bulb that came out is a little 12 volt 3 watt that hardly puts out any light. Has anyone stuck in a 5 or 10 watt bulb? They high watts are a little bigger but look like they shoud fit. I am just worried about melting the light case or cover.

also... anyone seen any writeups to add more light in the boat, using the stock dash buttons?

Thanks :)

you can swap them to LED's. Try searching on here. LED's draw such a small amount of juice, you can add a bunch and use the stock switch.
