So almost burnt the 97xp to the ground today. I recently have been chasing a bad connection because my ski won't turn over well with brand new battery. So I checked fuses, vts was popped so disconnected vts wires and replaced fuse just in case. Then checked black box fuse and it was popped so I replaced it and it immediately melts and is smoking etc etc. So I yank it as fast as I can, and low and behold, the vts fuse is also melted. Neither popped like they should've, they just melted....

I'm no electrical savant, any ideas? I left out the vts fuse next go round and replaced black box fuse and everything is back to normal, Still won't turn over well but isn't melting fuses....

Pic of 15 amp from black box, you can see it didn't do it's job of breaking connection very well...

The VTS has two sets of wires. One for the motor and one for the module. Did you unplug them both?

Isn't Braley just about in your back yard? Take it to the man and I'm sure he'll get you sorted quickly.

Yeah next town over, I'm stubborn and have been trying to do it all myself but it's not working too well lol

I swear you've been working on this ski for like 2 years. I know you've been deployed a few times (thanks for your service) but man sometimes you gotta cut the cord. I want to see you ride this thing.

2 babies in that span as well lol yah it's been a long road that I tinker with when I can, it's all together and finished minus the bad connection somewhere. I'll have it running come spring, have faith my friend

I'll be there whenever you need me. We can swap parts until we find it then just kick me a couple bucks for whatever you actually end up needing. I still have those alignment part of yours also.

Have you seen mine yet? It spins over slow also. They should have upped the gauge of the battery cables IMO because they are so long.

Do the check out procedure for the stator. Your popping the 5 amp main fuse still? The repair manual is on the net for free. It has check out procedures. If The MPEM has th 5 amp fuse check that one.
