Hi, can someone explain why the 2007 Seadoo shop manual states on page 1X, "This shop manual covers the following BRP made SEA-DOO 2006??? watercraft mods." Is the 2007 year reference when the manual is written? Should I have a 2008 shop manual for 2007 machines. There is a chart in the manual that includes the various models, my colour is not listed. Is this just a big typo? Thoughts? Thanks Jim

I have a 2007 GTX and bought the shop manual and noticed it still references the MPEM electronics when our machines do not have the MPEMs. Its pretty hard to diagnose with shop manual referencing parts that do not exist on the boat.

I found a place to download the manuals and grabbed a 2008 version. It shows the MPEM being deleted but also shows some stuff the 2008 has that the 2007 does not have.

It takes some talent to use two different shop manuals and try to fit the pieces in between out of thin air. But I can say there is value in grabbing the 2008 manual. You will still have to theorize some in-between stuff.

Look at the pictures. Many of them reference the year the picture refers toin the lower left corner of the picture. A lot of the pictures have a number that starts with 2006 in the 2007 manual. That makes sense if nothing has changed. But in our case, it clearly did change and the manual did not get updated.

Thanks nateccnn, ok wow this explains a lot. I am not where my machine is but do have some electronics attached to the side of the hull left of the battery when looking forward? Is this the starter solenoid?

The starter solenoid is where you described. It has two red connectors attached. The fuse box and relay box is located to the rear of the solenoid. And yes, the ECM is located in top. Has two main wire harness connectors.

Thank you. So I downloaded the 2008 manual and thought I would look at the 2009 manual. To my surprise in the Model list is my colour for my GTX, Cosmo blue and model numbers. Didnt they change colours for models every year? I guess the VIN confirms the model year.
