Hello all! Well, my 1997 XP nearly shredded the front torque tube(drive shaft) damper on Sunday. I started poking around and pulled on exhaust and motor lifted right up. The motor mount on the exhaust side broke.

My question is this, am I correct in thinking that the motor mount breaking played a role in the damper being jacked up?

Once again, thanks for your input in advance!

I have a 2000 XP limited. I had to change my motor mounts last season and my front coupler was also beat up! I would say yes that is the cause. I payed $16 for a new one.

Ok, I'll toss a new mount in there. You found the coupler or the mount for $16? Either way that is a screaming deal.

Absolutely correct.

When the engine leans it can easily wipe out anything on or along the shaft.

They sell heavy duty mounts that replace the OEM mounts.

If you do a search here at the site you should find links to them. If not, let me know, I'll find them.
