Okay so I am a total newbie o the sport and just bought a 2011 GTI155 Limited...

The dealer said nothing about a "break in" period and I didn't even know of such a thing until I found thus site and started reading about caution during the first 10 hours...

So here's he deal....I have about 4 hours on my new Seadoo and being new certainly have varied the throttle quite a lot...not ever at full throttle due to not being comfortable at that speed. The last hour though I did a lot of cruising at 30-35 miles per hour over 15-20 minute periods. Now I am freaking out that I am damaging the engine based on what I have read here about cruising at those constant speeds. Can someone please reassure me that I have not damaged my engine? I ran it up to 50 mph for a few seconds at the highest speed. It makes me a bit mad that the dealer said nothing about breaking it in....

You and your engine are doing just fine! What they don't want is sustained high speed/full throttle runs until after your first oil change at 10 hours. Keep doin' what you're doin'. It's OK.

It'll be fine... you're encouraged to vary the engine rpm's for the 1st few hours of operation, just refrain from WOT until you're closer to the 10 hr mark. I believe you're also required by BRP to have the dealer perform that 10 hr oil change and service (they check everything for loose bolts and such; it's more than just an oil change and it is required to preserve your warranty so do be sure to get it done and save the paperwork!!!).
