Brand new impeller has chipping? Might be dumb question

I purchased a new solas impeller for my 98 seadoo gsx and noticed that there are imperfections on the impeller blades where they make contact to the body of the impeller

this is my first time purchasing an impeller and not sure if this is normal or not.

Will someone please let me know by looking at the pictures?

It doesn’t look like anything that will affect performance, but it’s definitely not the best quality control. I’d send the pictures to Solas and see what they say. I’d be willing to bet that they’d send you out a replacement...

I never liked Solas finish's when I worked on Doos, but that was a long time ago. Strength wise I'm sure it is good, finish wise it's poor. If paid full price for that I would be sending it back. Blunt edges anywhere on the leading edge can only reduce performance, maybe not enough to be noticable in this situation, but they sure don't help.

Was this a new or reconditioned unit?

This was new condition! Thanks for your feed back! Much appreciated. I will be contacting the seller and sending back. The wear ring that came with it had some minor dents on the back lip...
