Well, I got blue oil in this injection tank. I was told this is Amsoil but I'd rather use an oil that I can purchase locally. I have the 787 with RAVE valves so I need the good stuff but I don't mind. Just trying ti figure the brand and where I can get it. Anyone use Amsoil?

I use xps synthetic and mystik jt4 (from academy). Xps is now red amd the mystik is purple.
The blue is likely to be outboard oil and not for use in ANY sea doo engine.
I have never used amsoil, but, I always drain all fluids from a new to me ski, and replace with proper fluids.

I run the mysik im the 96 skis and xps in the 2000.

I was told the ski has always used Amsoil and many people attest that it is good stuff but I don't want something I can't get off the shelf. I like your idea of draining all the fluids. Are the two you suggest good for the RAVE valve equipped skis ?

Some will say xps only , others will say factory equivalent. Metric ton of threads on oil here. I can only say the xps works great. Just now trying the mystk oil. Another couple of tanks of fuel, and I'll know more. Xps is 50.00 a gallon here in Houston. Mystik is 25.00. Same specs, so we will see.

Never heard of Mystik. Is it OK for RAVE valve engines? I found the Quicksilver full Synthetic at Wally World locally for $37 per gallon. They changed the label on it recently though I sure it is the same stuff I use. The Amsoil isn't too expensive it is the shipping charges. I have an aversion to shipping charges. LOL

Hmmmmmm..... API TC

http://docs.mystiklubes.com/msds_pi/M20077.pdf
The special additive system designed for specific use in Personal Watercraft engines provides the best
protection against engine wear, rust and corrosion, and ensures engine cleanliness. The advanced
formula used in Mystik JT-4 Synthetic 2-Cycle Personal Watercraft Engine Oil far exceeds Personal
Watercraft engine requirements for an API TC and JASO FC quality oil.

I use Amsoil Interceptor. It is an acceptable replacement for XPS. It works well & has a pleasant odor. It is brown not blue.

OK then... no idea what this cool lookin blue stuff is. LOL I'm gonna change it out anyway. Thanks for the input. I'm gonna pick up some Mystik. :)

For the record, the Mystik JT-4 full synthetic snowmobile oil is the same stuff as the full synthetic PWC oil. I mention this because it seems that all the Mystik PWC oil has disappeared from Academy Sports in the Northern half of Georgia. Trying to order directly from Mystik (i.e. Citgo) was an exercise in futility, but I did manage to find an online vendor that had the snowmobile oil. Per Tech Support at Mystik they are the same product just packaged differently. I've been using it for years on a 95 SPX (no raves) and now on my 96 GTX (RAVE) with no issues whatsoever.

Same here. I use the snowmobile version which is exactly the same formula (as eavega mentioned). We have a C.A.L. Ranch store out here that was carrying it but they quit stocking it. They said that there was not much use for snowmobile oil in Phoenix, AZ (chuckle). I explained that I use it in my sea-doo. They are real nice about it and can have it transferred from other stores that still carry it. So I bought a case the last time around. Hope they will still get it transferred whenever I need it again.

For the Op, the only approved Amsoil for Seadoo's is the Interceptor and is not blue, it is gold in color. So the previous owner was using the wrong oil.

Oh well. I bought a gallon of mystik today. Looks like I'll be flushing the oil out of the crankcase. Thanks for the head ups and input guys.... I am now a Mystik customer. LOL
