there is a 3 inch long, 2 inch diameter piece of exhaust hose that connects my exhaust manifold to my water box. i blow a hole out the back side of it every year. is this common?

i bought a new one from my seadoo dealer last year. they charged me 24 dollars for a 3 inch piece of hose. i went to the auto parts store today and got the same thing, only 12 inches long, for 20 dollars.

I have never heard of that before but maybe it happens more often?

Id be wondering if your getting the proper amount of water into the exhaust system.

Yep... what he said.

If you are blowing it out... your exhaust is running hot. Check the hoses, and the barbed fittings going into the head pipe. They have an orifice (like a carb jet) and they may be plugged up.

On the 95xp800 I recently bought, the pipe that goes over the MAG (w/ Bombarider written on it) has a carb jet screwed into it. I believe it's the larger one found in the carb, not sure what it's called. Is this normal?? How hot should that pipe be anyway? I was running this pipe when I blew a piston ring, could that have helped cause my mechanical demise?

my pee hole pees and i just rebuilt the motor so everything is clear. it happened before and after i did the rebuild.

the edge of the water box is thin sharp sheet metal. the water box and the exhaust don't line up perfectly. when i attached it all and clamp it down the hose is under some stress. looking on the inside of the hose it does look heated and cracked.

when i pull the ski out of the water after riding and start it to blow out the water, it blows out water. it runs cool to the touch on the motor and main exhaust.

other then a plugged line is there anything else i should check?

thanks. :)

That would be a jet that water is injected into the exhaust at certain RPM for power. The pipe itself might get warm. Ive run mine wide open for a couple minutes and it was nice and warm, but not HOT.

Perhaps you should see if theres something missing from under the water box to align it better and create less stress on the connection.

Yep... see if you can line it up a little better. Even if you got to stuff a little wood behind the waterbox.
