I have a 1994 GTX... We premix the fuel, oil pump quit... Anyway, took it out of storage and fired it up to make sure all was well... Today, there is a thick black oil coming out of the exhaust... Any thoughts what this could be? There was enough to cause a small puddle on the garage floor... Thanks for any help...

It's either caused by leaking crank seals from the oil tank through the rotary cavity or leaking needle and seat flooding the engine.

If it’s thin and watery like gas it’s the needles and seats. If it’s thicker it’s oil and the seals.

How much smoke came out of exhaust when you started it? Crank seals flood the bottom end with oil and on initial start up it’s a massive amount of smoke. If you’re pre mixing you will use more oil then the oil pump will. I pre mixed my gti the first year I had it and I always had a oily film on the back at the exhaust. When I started it out of the water it would literally drip oil from the exhaust. That was at 40/1. Since reinstalling the oil pump that problem is gone.
