Battery manufacturer recommendations

With the next season just around the corner, I'm planning on purchasing a new battery for my 2004 GTX. Any recommendations for a reputable manufacturer? On the flip side, those to avoid?

I have kept mine on a charger since it was purchased a couple of years ago. It is a little weak when tested and cranks slow. What is the typical life span for a PWC battery under good conditions?

I like the way you think "the next season just around the corner". Two to three seasons is about right for the lifetime of a battery. I would get a name brand battery, and avoid the paste on label Chinese batteries. It's you get what you pay for, last summer I bought a Duracell from Batteries Plus, it has a full 2 year replacement warranty, the other batteries I looked at had a 90 day warranty.

BTW your battery will last longer if you don't leave the maintainer/charger on it. I charge mine every 30 days in the off season.

There's nothing wrong with the OEM battery for your machine. I believe it's part number 278001882 (YB30CL-B). If it's too pricey at the dealer (I think Sea-Doo wants $135 US for it), you can probably get it elsewhere. It's a 30 amp Yuasa. Good luck.
