Looking at getting a few of these to put on the skis when i have them on the lift. Any thoughts about doing something like this?

Sunforce 2W 12V Solar Powered Panel Battery Charger Maintainer Boat Car RV 58012 689989133185 | eBay

Thanks
Scott

I think what has strayed me away from solar panels is initial cost factored in by the money you'd save vs plugging it into the wall, as soon as the solar panel is up on the roof it starts loosing its initial yield, and over the years it will continue to degrade.

But for maintaining a charge on your ski it should work fine, I just use a trickle charger during the winter.

Modern photovoltaic panels don’t degrade much anymore. The rule of thumb is about 1% per year, so it’s not enough to notice. The big loss comes from dirt, dust, and water spots on the panels, so it’s important to give them a good cleaning every so often. It’s a great option for places you don’t have grid power, like the dock.

Yeah it all varies on location and access, for maintaining charge on a ski it will work.

My thought is 2 watts of power is not worth the money for that particular panel you are showing. For a little more money, there are several higher output solar panels available.
