Battery maintainer for sea doo

Is it harmful to attach a battery maintainer while the sea doo is still connected to the 12V battery? Will that possibly damage the electronics?

I have one of these and want to keep it on the 12V battery, but don't want to harm the MPEM. Anyone know what the maximum voltage the mpem can take is?

Lothsahn, I have used the identical unit for many years on my 97 GTI. Both wet-cell and AGM batteries. No downside as far as I can tell, batteries tend to last longer than without a maintainer. My battery is connected all the time with the minder connected as well. Months at a time. Your ski is about the same age (tech) as mine, I doubt any harm to the MPEM.

Your best bet to no have any issues is to remove the battery from the ski to charge or at leas disconnect the negative cable. There is no point in risking a $500 MPEM for a $30 charger shorting out.

Should be somewhere visible when you take the seat off in your gti, I know there's a sticker right by one of the tank vents on my gsx. Either way, I wouldn't risk it

Don't risk it, all of 10 seconds and a 10mm socket to get the positive or negative post off the battery..

On the Harbor Freight ones yes, seen them burn up. I just had a BatteryTender fail but it was 20 years old and did no damage, It just went dead.
