Battery Installation Question (Red and Black Wire. Purple?)

I have what is most likely a stupid question but I could not find the answer to it searching around on the internet and then searched the shop manual for my speedster. I was putting a new battery in and there is a Red wire, Black Wire, and Purple? wire and wasn't sure where the purple wire goes. It is a 1997 Speedster. It looks like the red and the purple wire go into the mpem and the black wire is grounded on the boat. Before I connect the wires I wanted to make sure I put them in the correct places since I hear that the MPEM's are so temperamental with electricity. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I followed the wire to the MPEM and it connects to the ground on the other engine. So I am assuming it turned out to just be a ground for the other side.

Consider this post closed. Of course I have found other problems, hehe. So i started a new thread with my next problem in order not to cross problems in one thread.
