bad stator/mag assembly

will a bad stator/mag assembly cause engine not to run at higher RPM's I have tried everything else and I mean everything!!

Well, the last time I heard that, the person forgot the simplest thing to check...like turn the fuel on...:ack:
Is it backfiring or doing anything else that would link to the mag? Is the spark good? Compression good...150psi is ideal. Jet Pump bearings good, they could cause too much friction if bad, and no high rpms.
