I have a 2000 gtx rfi that WILL NOT start while in the water. Could this be a problem with the jet pump? The danm thing will start up every time on the trailer, but once it touches the water it boggs and dies. I am trying to check the coil pack, but really dont know what to look for (#'s wise). I bought the ski in early spring and have only made it around the lake once before it died. I plan to take the pump out this weekend and check it. Any help i can get i will take.

Your symptom sounds more like fuel blockage which is very common, if you pull the choke can you ride the whole lake? get the fuel system flushed out including the control, and make certain the oil system is drinking, the compression should be about 150 but most important is the 2 must be close 150-140 is good 140-80 is bad, once you get the engine running strong then you can determine if the pump is cavitating - look inside with a flashlight to see if the blade is gouged or the ring around looks really tight around it.
I just noticed you have RFI, which is a dealer project if it acts strange, get the other things checked before you head to the dealer for the unknown, explain to them you have cleaned the water/fuel filter and compression is this good.
