Hello everyone new to the forum recently I have been trying to figure out a backfiring problem. I have a 1999 seadoo spx. I can get it started it ran do about a min or so then shut it off. An hour later I came to start it up again and it was having difficulties starting and backfired extremely loud which cause it to blow a hole throw the black rubber exhaust hose. I have read many people have had the same issue but no1 seems to have a solution. Please if you have any suggestions or you know what is going on please give me some insight I can't seem to figure this one out. It has backfired multiple times mostly trough exhausted I even said the massive spark when it blew.it also looks like it's backfiring through carbs as well but for sure the exhaust. It blew the hose right off. It has new plugs. New battery. Thanks for reading!

Can verify rv timing, but if it ran good, just hard starting then think, you need to tear apart the carbs. The needles are leaking/stuck open, allowing fuel to fill the crankcase. When trying to start, your pushing the fuel into the exhaust and when the cylinders finally ignite, send the shark into the exhaust filled pipe, creating the explosion....pull the carbs
