So my 93xp has been running great then all of a sudden im going down the lake at WOT for about 3 miles and it dies on me about 1/2 mile from the launch....so i swim it there get there and it fires up....get home pull the plugs and the rear is black while the front is light brown...cleaned the plugs up since they were new that day put them back in fired right up brought it to the water fired right up rode for about 30min and it started sputtering....pulled the plugs and the rear was black again. Any ideas why only the rear would be doing this?

well last night i went to bring it out the plug was perfectly clean, it started right up idled out from shore a bit then hit the gas and misfired like crazy....pulled the plug and it was black and full of oil n gas. grabbed another plug, fired right up ran like a dream for the 30min I was out shut it off started up fine again let it idle a few min wet WOT right down to idle, pulled the plug when i got home and it was just a tad black, not nice and brown like the front one but not crap like the last rear one...so idk maybe it was a dead plug? I dont know if thats even possible

Be sure they are gapped correctly... two strokes known for following plugs that are not correctly gapped.. the gap should be .21-.25.. Also check the end of the plug wire to be sure it is not broke..

everytime it sputters i check the gap lol...i always make sure its on but i will be checking the wire soon thanks

Got mine out again today put new plugs in before went out and took it out for 15 - 20mins and had no trouble with it. piugs were fine when got home. will see how long I can get out of them. I think it might just be running a bit rich??
