Yes it should, but I'd check it to be sure. Just in case it maul functions or picks up something that shuts it down. Peace of mind is priceless.

+1 to what KK said, triple check.

It's not so much the rainfall as most if not all of it will shed out of the deck scupper vs. drain into the bilge. It's moreso that you're mooring on water and the boat naturally can take on water through the carbon seals or unknown leakage elsewhere.

FWIW, I have moored in slip all summer with no issues, but it's partly because I'm anal about checking the bilge, elect, and pump functions.

I would double check it. I left my boat in the water overnight once last summer and came back the next morning after it rained to find over a foot of water in the engine compartment.

Once I got home I took the switch out and messed with the wires till I found the one that controls the pump. I moved it to the constant hot post. What is weird is that the same wire also powers the switches on the console. So now all of them are hot.

I have read several other people here who's pumps did not work with the switch in the off position. You should double check it. It is easy to do, take a garden hose and add water to the engine compartment and see if it comes on.

Went to the lake tonight while it was raining, opend the engine cover, saw there was a little water, closed the cover and the bilge started working with the perko ff. Guess that answers my question. Thanks
