Ok I've been having issues with my ski not starting after I ride it for a few. It acts like the battery is dead but I had it load tested and they said it's fine. It sets at 12.57v but when I hit the start button it drops to 7.89v. I put a new starter on it last week and a new relay this week. I'm thinking it's not charging as I ride but I wouldn't think it would drain the battery after only an hour of riding. Does anyone have any ideas of what's going on? It starts fine the first couple of times then it seems weaker until it can't turn the fly wheel anymore

an hour of riding without the magneto system working will completely kill the battery. check your voltage while running.

I'm at work so i can't check it ATM but let's just say it's not reading 14v. What would I be looking at fixing. Charging coil magneto hub stator. Basically a pita or not so bad? I'm mechanically inclined but I don't want to get in over my head

if it runs fine when the battery is fully charged, then most likely it is a rectifier problem, easy fix.

also, the older 787s are known for having p/u coil problems but normally that causes a non running condition.

thanks for the info. I've been stressing out about it. I'll check on how to troubleshoot the rectifier and look at replacing it. just have to wait till the weekend to do it which cuts into my getting wet time :)
