Anyone ever changed the reverse cables

Please help...my 1996 Challenger reverse cable is extremely hard to go from forward to neutral to reverse....how complicated is the procedure to do this?

You might want to check the lockout in the controls, there's something in there to keep you from changing direction while above idle, it might be stuck.
And that would be a lot easier than pulling out the whole reverse cable!

Another way to check if the cable is at fault is disconnect the cable from the reverse gate bucket and shift it to see if it is still hard to operate.
