Ok, so I've searched the forums and read a lot of good info on oil, thinking of switching to Amsoil Interceptor for my 96 Challenger but I had a question. My boat used oil unknown to me when bought used, but I would guess by the owner that it was XPS. I bought and used the XPS synthetic, which after the research doesn't seem all that expensive (any suggestions on best place to buy in Southern Ontario?). However, due to lack of options (read: preparation) I had to buy from a Canadian Tire store and luckily (I think) bought the Shell Nautilus Synthetic 2T low ash PWC oil. I haven't come across anything here regarding people using this oil in their boats, is it ok to use? Suitable replacement or should I switch? I'm thinking of going to the AMsoil at about $4/litre more and doing the mix in a cup test to see if my lines would be ok with the switch. The Amsoil is also more readily available and would save making a special trip for the XPS. Should I drain the tank before the switch (this might be influenced by the mix in cup test).
Anyway, just couldn't find anything on the Shell Nautilus and wanted to know if running it for half a season could have any really bad effects and if I'm ok just running it out if I want to switch or if I should drain right away.
Thanks for all advice/opinions.
Maciej
