check out this bulletin and give me some feedback

i cant read it cpu problem on my end.

I know amsoil synthetic oil can be used in the SC motors, They know about seadoo washer problems and took that into concideration when making there marine oil. I know that everyone say you can use synthetic oil in the SC motor BUT amsoil is the only synthetic one you can use with out problems. This is the oil im switching to in my 155hp...

but your also using the riva washers, would this oil be ok to use with ceramic, I know the bulletin says it would be ok , but just trying to get real world feedback

if you got ceramic change them they just dont hold up.... As far as oils go i think amsoil is the best but i wouldnt trust any oil to save your ceramic washers.

Thanks Sporsterjoel, from previous threads, sounds like you did a SC rebuild before, so I wanted to throw this out to you. When its time to rebuild the charger do you get the whole kit or do you just inspect and replace the washers. Does the kit come with everything you need (shaft, bearings) trying to get an idea of what I need to do the job, I looked at manual from forum on charger and it looks like there might be a couple of special tools needed to do the job. When I looked at the parts list the charger kit was around $300, does that seem right.. Do you know what the around about total price would be to do the job with parts and needed tools and does the kit come with the right washers or do you have to pick them up also (ex: riva's) price of the riva's I saw where around $100, does that seem right.. Before the charger is pulled do you have to extract the engine oil. On the manuals page I did not see a supercharger section in the 2006 sportster manual, so I went on the 2007 4-tec manual and found the charger instructions, is that ok to use, are all the chargers pretty much interchangeable. I know this was alot of babbling but I'm just trying to get a hand on what I need to do for the job, thanks

I dont have A SC boat but i know alot of people that have had them fail so i always tell people about the clutch problems. You should check the slip every 25hr and rebuild it every 100hrs But everytime you have the charger off look at the gears bearing shaft and washer for wear and replace if needed. Pullin it that often is a pain but good pratice in avoiding a failure. And yes to rebuild it you need some tools but once you have them youll be able to rebuild it when ever you want so no waiting for the stealer. Also when you rebuild it update it to 2008 spec's, seadoo updated the chargers almost every year.

thanks for info. do you know if the seadoo metal washers are "titanium" I have read that people think that they are crap, and the riva washers are better then them, the riva washers are also "titanium" aren't they

Ive heard the seadoo ones are ceramic coated with titanium and they do suck compared to the rivas but are still a big improvment over the ceramics. If i remember rivas are a type of hardend steel and are desighed to wear and not break. Companys use titanium cause it sounds tuffer but that not always the case. Titanium is mean to be a strong light weight metal.
