I have an 08 speedster 150 with 18 hrs on it and no issues with it until today. I was leaving the sandbar my family and I usually visit and the engine cranked right up and then died. No idea what happened so my reaction was to restart but it didn't fire. We opened the engfine compartment and water was level with the bottom of the battery. I jump in the water and swim it back to the sand so I can limit how far it sinks, and by the time I get it there the battery is almost submerged. Thats how quick the water was entering. After a frantic search for the leak, i found the exhaust hose had fallen off and water was pouring in, I even had water comming out of the ski locker and filling the passenger compartment. Seems I had a false sense of security with a brand new boat and I didnt have tools with me, but I will never go on the water without them again... sorry for the long post but it could have been alot worse if we weren't near the sandbar. You would figure dealer prep or at least the 10hr service would have found this.
