ALMOST SOLD IT

Almost. A buyer was going to drive up Friday to pick my 1996 GTX. I was selling because my wife and I hardly ride our skis. I always mention I couldn't replace this ski for the money nor would I want to. It's cherry and all I need for sure to enjoy a ride. So... I took it out to make sure everything was OK and it performed flawlessly. On the ride back to the launch I'm thinking.... why am I selling this ski? I texted the buyer and told him never mind. So my new plan is to drop the engine in a pretty nice RFI and have that one for my wife. She likes that GTX hull.






This is the RFI. I have a "ready to go" engine on the floor. Gonna make it pretty too !!

That was a close call, . It’s not like you couldn’t find and fix another but you already have went all through this one and it’s nice to have a couple machines that you know you can get on anytime you want to. One thing I love about these unlike the snowmobiles is they cost me nothing to own, here in Ontario there is no insurance reguired and no pass of any type to purchase. I am curious whether you ended up keeping the Speedster you restored?

Sold the Speedster. I thought the kids might want it but they didn't Speedster was cherry when I got finished. I wouldn't do another one though. too difficult to reach and get at everything and TWO of everything. After riding in it with my wife doing the test rides the boat was boring as hell if you're not skiing or pulling a tube with friends in the boat. Give me a jet ski anyday but I'm a motorcyclist at heart. LOL

They are a lot of fun, the right size and my wife really likes them. She has ridden almost all the skis I've restored except the 96XP. We just have to make it a point to get on the water more often.
